Specialist Products & Services

For Ever Homes Ltd believes that whatever installation you have, it has to be installed thoroughly and professionally. We pride ourselves on our approach in repairing all surfaces that have to be treated before any final finish is applied. In order to do this our installation crews are employed by the company and we do not sub-contract any of our work. This allows us to monitor all installations and happily guarantee our work for up-to 25 years.

Permaltex Wall Coating

Our superior wall coating systems are made from highly advanced materials thus allowing us to guarantee all our installations for up to 25 years.

Our quality products are only as good as the preparation itself and takes skilled craftsmen to install them.

Permaltex is a highly durable long life spray applied textured coating for the protection and decoration of most external masonry surfaces. Permaltex Spray Textured masonry coating is a solvent borne high build product based on plasticised alkyd technology with reinforcing fibres. It contains a fungicide to inhibit mould growth on the surface.

Surfaces must be clean, sound and dry and prepared in accordance with BS6150 Painting of buildings – code of practice. Treat organic growth with a fungicidal solution. Remove any unsound previous decoration and weak material and repair with suitable exterior repair products before coating with Tinted Stabiliser.

Permaltex is available in coarse texture (Grade 25) medium texture (Grade 15) and fine texture finishes. It comes in a wide variety of colours. See colour chart below for our basic colour chart, please use for reference only true colour will not be shown by a computer/phone/tablet/tv screen.

Permaltex is:

  • Microporous

  • Breathable

  • Waterproof

  • Flexible

  • Long Lasting & Durable

Rake out, Re-Point and Protect

For Ever Homes Restoration Ltd Rake out, Re-Point and Protect System is used when pointing fails, which will normally be the result of weathering over the years. Alongside this the brick faces breakdown and becomes increasingly porous, absorbing more water than normal, resulting in penetrating damp, step fractures and at worst brick fracturing and cracking occuring when left untreated.

For Ever Homes Restoration Ltd Rake out, Re-Point and Protect System involves a full rake out to all the pointing,  followed by a fungicidal wash and then a power wash. All pointing is then replaced with 'weather struck' or 'bucket handle' pointing by one of our skilled re-pointers. We then apply the Properla Masonry Cream System  over all the brickwork. For Ever Homes Restoration Ltd is a certified installer of Properla Masonry Creme.

proPERLA® Insulation Cream has been developed with superior technology. It creates an invisible insulation barrier, penetrating deep into the substrate, up to 17 mm and protecting the masonry for over 20 years. It will protect your walls and it's cavity from penetrating damp, improve their thermal resistance and reduce energy bills. proPERLA®'s Insulation Cream make walls and bricks self cleaning and allows the walls to breathe naturally.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE

proPERLA® Insulation Cream has been tested and certified to standards. The product penetrates deep into the substrate, creating an INVISIBLE INSULATION BARRIER that reduces water absorption by more than 95%. proPERLA® Insulation Cream has been tested according to EN ISO 15148:2002, demonstrating its hygrothermal performance on concrete, mortar, brick, and sandstone.

DAMP WALLS = THERMAL BRIDGES

If the pores of a wall collect moisture, more heat is transferred than it would be possible if the cavities were filled with air. As a result, the thermal conductivity of the wall decreases enormously with dampness. Tests have shown that a damp content of 5% in a plain brick wall, for example, can lower the insulation performance by up to 50%, especially where cavity wall insulation has been installed. Consider that porous building materials, such as natural stone, brick and solid brick, to name a few, normally have good insulating properties. They have air-filled cavities, which offer low thermal conductivity. BUT ONLY WHEN THEY ARE DRY!

INSULATING

A treatment with proPERLA® Masonry Insulation Cream insulates mineral building materials by reducing water absorption. The lifespan of a treated surface is more than 20 years. The product bonds due to a molecular reaction to the surface, and is able to penetrate up to 17 mm in order to create an invisible insulation barrier.

BREATHABILITY

The masonry is able to breathe and will be permeable to water vapour whilst allowing air and moisture to pass through from one side to the other. A breathing masonry will improve the thermal conductivity and insulation properties. Consider that just a 5% content of damp in cavity wall insulation or other building materials can lower the thermal resistance by up to 50%.

SELF CLEANING EFFICIENCY

Dirt particles are unable to obtain a hold on the proPERLA® treated brickwork and will therefore simply flow off with rainfall. The masonry remains clean and attractive, even on sides which are particularly exposed to the weather like on the north-facing side or areas in shade, as well as in areas with high air humidity or sea salt penetrated air.

Repair and Re-Surface

In order for our treatments to be applied, as we all know, it comes down to proper preparation!

All our staff are trained and qualified to identify any areas of concern. We will remove all failed render and pebbledash, V out and fill small cracks, re-create brick surfaces, cut back and secure large cracks. Then we scrub down polluted and dirty surfaces, masking up and protecting all areas which are not to be treated. Finally we re-instate render and pebbledash to match. This is all necessary before installing our specialist exterior protection system Permaltex.

Fibrocem GRC render is used and is a pre-mixed ready to use material with the addition of clean water the only requirement.  A polymer modified glass fibre reinforced formulation designed to cope with difficult substrates and giving greater adhesion.

The polymer addition is alkali reactive forming a water repellent to reduce water permeability.  Fibrocem GRC render is designed to give extremely high flexural strength and tensile strength, together with excellent bonding to sound substrates, resistance to water penetration and durability to the highest order.   High impact resistance without crack propagation gives a surface total protection against the ever changing environment.

Fibrocem GRC render may be used as a render in its own right, or in conjunction  with other decorative finishes, forming a highly durable system.  The system is also suitable for use in sterile areas where constant cleaning is carried out with a suitable cleaning system.
